New state law will allow concealed weapons inside Razorback Stadium

The carrying of concealed weapons on Arkansas’ college campuses – including athletic venues – will now be allowed following the signing of House Bill 1249 into law by Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson today.

Anyone in possession of a concealed carry permit will now be able to conceal carry that weapon at colleges and universities provided they undertake additional training. The law also extends conceal carry rights to numerous other public buildings in the state as well as bars and restaurants that serve alcohol.

A 2013 state law provided for faculty and staff members to conceal carry on Arkansas’ college campus, but also provided for each individual campus to opt out of the legislation if they chose to do so, which every campus did.
