FAYETTEVILLE – Dominic Taccolini needed Saturday. He needed it about as much as Arkansas needed a team win. The sophomore right-hander was bad his last two times out, giving up 14 earned runs over his last eight innings in two starts.
He showed his coach, Dave Van Horn, he deserves to keep hold of that Saturday Starter title against Mississippi State, though.
Taccolini worked 6 2/3 innings and allowed just a single run on a night the Razorbacks’ bats needed a pick-me-up early. Three of the Arkansas runs came in one inning and a few more tacked on late as a 6-1 3-1 win sealed the series against the Bulldogs, the fifth straight series capture for the Diamond Hogs.
