The transfer portal has a way of bringing things full circle in college athletics.
Jimmy Whitt signed with Mike Anderson in 2015, transferred to SMU and then returned to Fayetteville in 2019-20 to play on Eric Musselman’s first Arkansas basketball team. Back then, such moves were still a bit novel.
Those “boomerang” transfers are almost commonplace now, with guys like Snaxx Johnson and Jacolby Criswell doing them in reverse on the football side.
With John Calipari still looking to add players to his 2025-26 roster, one potential option could be in a similar vein.
Kijani Wright, who spent last season at Vanderbilt, is a 6-foot-9 forward who would add versatility and wouldn’t be a bad addition to the frontcourt if the Arkansas basketball staff isn’t satisfied with what it has there to date.
