No. 1 Arkansas had the opportunity to change the game with one swing of the bat in the seventh inning of its 6-1 victory over No. 11 South Carolina on Thursday because of the work Razorback relief pitcher Caden Monke did in the sixth.
Monke inherited base runners at first and second base with no outs in a 1-1 game, but got out of the jam by getting a pop up on a failed bunt attempt and an inning-ending double play.
Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn brought in Monke to replace Ryan Costeiu, who walked and hit a batter to begin the bottom of the sixth.
