Monk Rebuffs Arkansas, Picks Kentucky

FAYETTEVILLE - Bentonville High School guard Malik Monk announced Tuesday on Twitter his decision to play basketball at Kentucky.

Monk, a consensus top 10 recruit nationally, is one of highest-ranked players in Arkansas high school basketball history. He is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard rated as the No. 5 player senior in the country by ESPN. His older brother, Marcus, played both basketball and football at the University of Arkansas in the early 2000s. Arkansas had been recruiting Malik Monk for a few seasons.

Malik Monk’s decision, one he made Tuesday he said, was scrutinized from all corners of the college basketball world on the medium he made the announcement.
