Minutes bookending halftime proved pivotal in Arkansas basketball loss at LSU

LSU made the Arkansas basketball team pay for sloppy play in the few minutes before and after halftime Tuesday night at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.

The Razorbacks (11-6, 0-4 SEC) saw a 36-29 lead with 1:35 before intermission turn into a 38-36 deficit 55 seconds after halftime.

The crucial 9-0 run led to a 78-74 victory for LSU and kept Arkansas searching for its first SEC win.

The importance of capitalizing on the moments bookending halftime is something LSU coach Matt McMahon said he remembers Penn State football coach James Franklin preaching.

“I was watching the [College Football Playoff] the other day,” McMahon said.
