FAYETTEVILLE — Shortstop Matt Reynolds has been called up by the New York Mets in the middle of the postseason.
Reynolds will replace Ruben Tejada on the Mets' roster. Tejada broke his leg Saturday in Game 2 of the team's National League Division Series game against the Dodgers when Chase Utley collided with him at second base.
Utley has been suspended two games for the play.
If he plays, Reynolds would become the second player in the modern era to make his MLB debut in the postseason, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Mark Kiger debuted for the Athletics in the 2006 postseason.
