FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas linebacker D'Vone McClure will enter the NCAA's transfer portal, he said Wednesday on his Twitter page.
McClure's announcement comes two days after Arkansas coach Chad Morris said McClure told him he was leaving the team to focus on academics and to support his family. McClure has a young son.
"I think we all know his family situation with his son," Morris said Monday. "It was, as he shared with me, ‘Coach I want to step away from football and I want to focus on my academics and focus on getting a job to help support my family.
