FAYETTEVILLE — It has been a long basketball journey filled with plenty of twists and turns in three countries and five states, but Navarro (Texas) Community College power forward Akol Mawein believes he is coming home.
Mawein (6-10, 205 pounds), a South Sudan native who moved to Sydney, Australia, as a youth, plans to sign his national letter of intent with Arkansas on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
That will happen after playing his high school basketball in Florida and Arkansas and appearing to be headed to LSU, TCU and California-Riverside at different times to play his college hoops.
