Louisiana Tech pulls no punches, hands Diamond Hogs first loss

FAYETTEVILLE - The hit never came. The first loss did.

Arkansas left runners in scoring position in the seventh and eighth innings and folded in the ninth, the whole time trailing by just a run. A potential game-tying or lead-breaking knock did not occur. The Razorbacks left eight runners overall and lost their first game in 2016, a 3-2 defeat to Louisiana Tech on Wednesday afternoon at Baum Stadium.

The game was the first in a 11-game stretch at Baum Stadium. Arkansas begins a three-game series with winless Eastern Illinois on Friday. A loss to Louisiana Tech (6-2) isn’t nearly as damaging as one would be in the weekend.
