Ninth-seeded Arkansas (19-12, 8-10 SEC) is set to get its SEC Tournament stay underway with a game against 16th-seed South Carolina (12-19, 2-16). It is the tournament’s first game.
The Gamecocks embarrassed the Razorbacks with a 72-53 victory March 1 in Columbia, S.C., a generous score considering Arkansas trailed by 35 in the second half.
Arkansas will be looking for a better showing in a rematch against South Carolina. A victory would lend itself well toward the Razorbacks avoiding playing early next week in the NCAA Tournament play-in round in Dayton, Ohio.
Tipoff inside Bridgestone Arena is scheduled for noon.
