Less than two hours before tipoff, an Arkansas news release updated the status of freshman guard Boogie Fland. He had successful surgery Wednesday to repair an injury to his ulnar collateral ligament on his right thumb.
Arkansas (11-7, 0-5 SEC) will look to overcome the blow when it hosts Georgia at 8 p.m. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
Fland's procedure was performed by Dr. Bob Hotchkiss at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Fland's injury happened during Arkansas' loss to Florida on Jan. 11, and he played through discomfort in the team's two most recent games at LSU and Missouri.
