OMAHA, Neb. — Arkansas and Stanford, which will play at the College World Series on Saturday, were motivated by the way their 2021 seasons ended.
The Razorbacks, the No. 1 overall seed in last year's NCAA Tournament, missed the College World Series when they lost a pair of one-run games to North Carolina State during a super regional at Baum-Walker Stadium.
It was a loss Arkansas players said motivated them throughout the past year.
“This is special because of the way it went down last year, honestly,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said following the Razorbacks' 4-3 victory over North Carolina last Sunday that clinched a trip to Omaha.
