FAYETTEVILLE — With right-hander Gage Wood sidelined by a shoulder injury, Arkansas left-handed pitcher Landon Beidelschies will join the starting rotation for the fourth-ranked Razorbacks this weekend against Charlotte.
Beidelschies (1-0, 1.17 ERA, 0.91 WHIP) will start the third game of the series Sunday at noon.
Arkansas (7-1) will throw right-hander Gabe Gaeckle (0-0, 1.69 ERA, 1.03 WHIP) in Friday’s series opener at 3 p.m. and left-hander Zach Root (1-0, 1.80 ERA, 0.70 WHIP) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Wood, who was the Razorbacks’ Game 3 starter the first two weekends, could miss 3 to 6 weeks with an impingement in his throwing shoulder, Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said Tuesday.
