LITTLE ROCK — Strange as it sounds, losing at the right time in the SEC Tournament seems to be the perfect preparation for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
A loser in Hoover, Ala., outdoing the tournament champion in the NCAA is an annual thing and SEC baseball is so highly regarded that rarely is the conference tournament a make or break event as far as advancing to the NCAA.
A year ago, 10 of the 64 teams were from the SEC, including Texas A&M with a 13-17 conference record, and the bracket will be loaded with conference teams again this year.
