FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas infielder Jack Kenley signed with the Detroit Tigers on Sunday and began his professional career Monday with a big game for the Detroit Tigers' West team in the Gulf Coast League.
Kenley went 3-for-4 with a home run, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored hitting out of the leadoff spot. Kenley played second base in the field.
Drafted in the eighth round with the 232nd pick overall, Kenley signed an offer worth $135,000, according to MLB's draft tracker.
That signing bonus was lower than the suggested value of $181,200 for his place in the draft.
