FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas men’s basketball coach John Calipari was concerned about his team’s physicality heading into SEC play. He said as much after the Razorbacks closed their nonconference slate with a 92-62 win over Oakland on Dec. 30 and it became clear with Arkansas’ five-game, SEC-opening skid.
The losing streak ended with Wednesday’s 68-65 victory over Georgia at Bud Walton Arena, in which the Razorbacks (12-7, 1-5 SEC) were the more physical team.
Arkansas out-rebounded the Bulldogs 40-30 and attempted 34 free throws.
“It’s a war every night so for us to out-rebound them and then for us to go on the offensive glass — rebounding is an indicator of toughness,” Razorbacks assistant coach Chuck Martin said.
