LEXINGTON, Ky. — A game that wouldn’t be much of a showstopper if it weren’t for the name on the visiting bench has arrived.
Arkansas men’s basketball first-year coach John Calipari makes his long-awaited return to Kentucky when his Razorbacks face the 12th-ranked Wildcats at 8 p.m. Saturday at Rupp Arena. Calipari, who spent the previous 15 years in the Bluegrass State, is expecting to be booed upon his return.
Much has been made of Calipari's return given his Wildcat legacy. He won the 2012 national title and reached 4 Final Fours with Kentucky.
“He’s a hall-of-fame coach and a legend in the sport,” first-year Kentucky coach Mark Pope said.
