FAYETTEVILLE – By his estimation, Zach Jackson figures he grew up five minutes from Oral Roberts University. James Teague, about an hour with traffic.
They watched in the spring of 2013 as high school classmates chose ORU, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. They were going east, instead. And now, of course, the two Sooner State natives are getting texts and calls.
“Hey, man, you got any extra tickets?”
Jackson, a Tulsa native, and Teague, from Bartlesville, will make the first trip back into their home state as college baseball players Friday when Arkansas plays the Golden Eagles in the first game of the Stillwater Regional at noon Friday.
