Jackson signs with Blue Jays

FAYETTEVILLE — Zach Jackson has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The former Arkansas pitcher was a third-round pick in last week's MLB Draft. He was the 102nd overall pick, which has a $585,100 signing bonus value, according to MLB.com.

Jim Callis, a senior writer for MLB.com, reports he signed for less than that value, at $540,000. Jackson signed the contract Tuesday at the Blue Jays' spring training facility in Dunedin, Fla.

"They give you an upfront idea of what you're going to get and there is really no reason to hold out once you get to that point," Jackson said.
