FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas baseballers Zach Jackson and Clark Eagan probably won’t be Arkansas baseballers next season. They were each taken Friday as part of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Jackson, a junior pitcher, was taken in the third round of Friday’s MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays with pick No. 102 overall. He was the fourth player the Blue Jays selected in the draft and is expected to begin his pro career with the team’s short-season-A affiliate Vancouver Canadians upon signing.
Jackson could still return to Arkansas but coach Dave Van Horn said at the Razorbacks postseason presser there is almost no chance would return for a final season at Baum Stadium.
