The smallest player on the court made the biggest impact Thursday night at Neville Arena in Auburn, Ala.
Izzy Higginbottom, a 5-7 guard for the Arkansas women’s basketball team, made a game-winning free throw with 2.4 seconds left to cap a 36-point performance, and the Razorbacks erased a 14-point deficit to defeat Auburn 59-58.
Arkansas (8-10, 1-2 SEC) snapped a two-game losing streak and won an SEC road game for the first time since last January at Missouri. The Razorbacks improved to 9-2 against Auburn under eighth-year coach Mike Neighbors.
Higginbottom, a senior from Batesville, became the fourth Arkansas player to score 30 or more points against Auburn since 2019.
