When the 42-year-old Van Buren resident was a kid, a friend’s mother used to let him tag along to games at Barnhill Arena. It was there that he fell in love with the program while watching the Razorbacks’ second version of “The Triplets” that led them to the 1990 Final Four — a team that had to get by Wednesday night’s opponent, Texas, in the Elite Eight.

Even after noted Longhorn-killer Todd Day, his favorite player, moved on to the NBA, he continued going to games.
