FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas men’s basketball team lost one of the nation’s top distributing point guards when Boogie Fland was indefinitely ruled out following a successful surgery to repair the Ulnar Collateral Ligament in his right thumb.

The Razorbacks, in the midst of a 5-game losing streak at the time of the news, had already undergone a dip in their assist numbers since starting SEC play. Arkansas averaged 16.7 assists in nonconference play and saw that number dip to 11.2 prior to Fland’s injury.

“Trust me, we’re getting all the plays that we want, just not converting with the shot,” Fland said after the 78-74 defeat at LSU on Jan.
