Arkansas fired the best round of the SEC championships on Saturday, a 12-under par 268 at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga., that represented the best team score for the Razorbacks in 14 years.
Unfortunately for the No. 26 Razorbacks, the hot round was not enough to overcome a slow 36-hole start on Friday as Arkansas failed to advance to the eight-team match play portion of the championships, which begin with two rounds today.
“I’m really proud of our guys for bouncing back with a great round today,” Arkansas Coach Brad McMakin said. “We came out firing right out of the gates and played one of the best rounds in recent history.
