FAYETTEVILLE - Texas has hired former Arkansas defensive backs coach Clay Jennings to the same position, according to reports.
Jennings spent the last three seasons coaching the secondary at Arkansas. In his three seasons, Arkansas finished 117th, 37th and 73rd in national pass defense. Jennings has strong ties to the state of Texas. Before coaching at Arkansas he was the cornerbacks coach at Texas Christian, Baylor and safeties coach at Houston. Jennings also played at North Texas.
Jennings is the third Arkansas assistant to leave this offseason. Offensive line coach Sam Pittman took the same job at Georgia and Jemal Singleton, running backs coach, left to join the Indianapolis Colts in the same position.
