That might just do it. The Arkansas baseball team Tuesday lost a game in May to the last-place team in the Missouri Valley Conference.
And while the 14-6 defeat to Missouri State does not likely highly affect the Razorbacks’ NCAA Tournament chances, it is proof positive of where the team stands with three weekends left in the Southeastern Conference season.
In deep trouble.
Pitching has done in Arkansas (26-19) all season and it was no different in Springfield on Tuesday night. Missouri State (28-15), needing its own spark, piled on Tuesday, striking for three runs in the third inning, one in the fourth and then dropping an eight-spot in a 35-minute fifth inning.
