FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas' self-inflicted mistakes -- such as penalties that wiped out touchdowns against Toledo and Texas Tech -- played a major role in the Razorbacks' 1-3 start last year.
Cleaning up that area of the game helped the Razorbacks during their 6-1 finish, and they hope the diminished penalty count carries into the start of 2016.
"If you go back to last year during fall camp, we kind of had some issues pop up during our scrimmages," Coach Bret Bielema said. "This year we've been relatively clean. There's been a huge emphasis on it."
Arkansas has brought officials in for scrimmages and has turned pre-snap penalties into punishments.
