FAYETTEVILLE — Hot-shooting Akron withstood a late rally and beat Arkansas 88-80 Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena.
The Zips made 13 of 28 3-point attempts and 50.9 percent of their attempts overall.
Akron (3-0) snapped Arkansas 54-game home win streak against unranked nonconference opponents. The Razorbacks fell to 1-1 overall.
The Zips never trailed and led by as many as 14 points in the second half. Arkansas used a 12-2 run to pull within 75-71 with 3:33 remaining, but couldn't get closer.
Antino Jackson scored 23 points to lead Akron. Reggie McAdams added 18 points and Isaiah Johnson scored 15.
