COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Arkansas was in prime position to salvage the third game of its weekend series with South Carolina, but Gamecocks sophomore designated hitter John Jones had other ideas.
Jones hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning off Razorbacks reliever Zach Jackson to lift South Carolina to an 8-6 victory and series sweep Sunday afternoon at Founders Park.
Arkansas (15-6, 0-3) led 6-1 before the Gamecocks (20-2, 3-0) rallied with 3 runs in the fifth, 1 in the sixth and 3 in the eighth.
Jones went 3 for 3 with an RBI single, RBI double and the home over his final three at-bats.
