FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas' starting quarterback received most of the headlines following the Razorbacks' 48-13 win over UTEP on Saturday.
Brandon Allen completed 14 of 18 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns. According to ESPN, Allen's quarterback rating was 99.6 - the fourth-highest all-time for an SEC quarterback in an opener.
But it was game-planning around his favorite receiver that led to a career day for Allen.
Offensive coordinator Dan Enos' plan was to incorporate receiver Keon Hatcher early and often against UTEP. Hatcher caught passes on two of the game's first three plays that totaled 26 yards and set the tone for the first half.
