FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw was named Wednesday to The Sporting News freshman All-America team.
Greenlaw, who was playing safety at Fayetteville High School last year, earned SEC All-Freshman team honors last week. He was also named the SEC's defensive freshman of the year by Athlon Sports.
Greenlaw, who played in all 12 games and started the final 10, recorded 93 tackles to lead all SEC freshmen and rank fifth nationally.
The 6-0, 222-pounder led the Razorbacks in tackles in half of his games as a starter. Greenlaw earned SEC freshman of the week honors for his 16 tackles in Arkansas' 54-46 four-overtime victory against Auburn.
