Greenlaw is a fresh(man) senasation

FAYETTEVILLE – Dre Greenlaw was once an afterthought on the Arkansas depth chart. The Fayetteville High School product needed to put on weight. He needed to learn a new position. He needed time to mature.

All that, apparently, only took a few months. The locally-produced freshman has gone from lower-tier FBS recruit to starting Southeastern Conference linebacker. And, most recently, Greenlaw was called the SEC’s Freshman of the Week.

The honor came after a 16-tackle effort in the Razorbacks’ four-overtime 54-46 win over Auburn on Saturday. The total number of tackles are tied for the most in all of FBS among freshman defenders this year and are the most by an Arkansas player, freshman or not, since Alan Turner had 16 against Mississippi State in November 2013.
