FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw surprised himself with his production as a freshman.
Greenlaw, a Fayetteville High School safety last year, pulled down Freshman All-America honors this week from Sporting News after accumulating 93 tackles, the fifth-highest total among freshmen in the country.
“It’s pretty sweet,” Greenlaw said. “If you would have asked me when I first came here if I was going to be a freshman All-American, I would have said no because linebacker was something new.
“So I would have just said, ‘Nooo, I can’t see me doing something like that my first year.
