FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas defensive end Dorian Gerald has been cleared to resume football training after suffering a severe neck injury in the season opener.
Gerald posted the news on his Twitter account on Friday, writing “and just like that … I’m back.”
Gerald has been sidelined since Aug. 31 and ruled out for the season at that time. He was treated immediately by UA medical personnel late in the first half of the Razorbacks’ 20-13 victory over Portland State after an artery in his neck was injured.
Gerald, a senior who transferred in prior to last season from College of the Canyons, would be eligible for another season.
