Sanford Stadium won’t be a place for guns any time soon.
Georgia state legislators are trying to determine if House Bill 280 or “campus carry” of concealed weapons is in the best interest of their constituents. A similar bill was proposed in 2016 before being vetoed by Governor Nathan Deal.
But even if House Bill 280 passes, Bulldogs fans do not need to worry about other fans carrying guns into Sanford Stadium. As currently written, HB280 states that concealed weapons would not be allowed inside athletic events, sorority/fraternity houses, dormitories or on-campus child care centers.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Deal has said he would “prefer” to have this piece of legislation include faculty and administrative office space.
