FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has had at least one player taken on the first day of the past two MLB drafts.
With his quick ascent up draft boards, center fielder Christian Franklin seems likely to extend that streak to three in June.
Franklin, a sophomore in classification but a junior in age, is ranked by Baseball America as the 36th-best overall prospect in the upcoming draft.
“It’s good to have the recognition, but in my mind it doesn’t mean anything yet,” Franklin said. “I’ve done good in the past and I want to keep proving that I’m a good player and keep showing that I can help my team win any way I can.
