FAYETTEVILLE - The second-leading scorer from the 2014-15 Arkansas basketball team was arrested in Fayetteville early Wednesday morning.
Michael Qualls, 21, was cited for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding and booked into the Washington County jail at 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Qualls averaged 15.9 points per game last year for Arkansas in helping the team to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. He made the Southeastern Conference All-Tournament team and second-team All-SEC and was often the team’s best player over the final eight games of the season.
Qualls left the Arkansas basketball team after last season, opting to put his name in the NBA Draft.
