From the field to the kitchen, a former Arkansas Razorback has made his way into the national spotlight, winning a cable TV series.
Eddie Jackson Jr., one of 12 finalists on reality competition show Food Network Star, walked away as the champion Sunday with his pilot focused on barbecue eats.
"This competition is definitely a roller coaster," Jackson said after winning. "It's going to test you mentally, physically, emotionally. … It's definitely one of the most difficult things I've ever done in my life. I've been through a lot of difficult things in my life, and this is at the top.
