A former Arkansas football player is among the finalists for the 2020 Broyles Award, which honors college football’s best assistant coach.
The Broyles Award is named for former Arkansas coach and athletics director Frank Broyles and is in its 25th season.
Kane Wommack, the 33-year-old defensive coordinator at Indiana, is one of five coaches up for the award. He was named head coach at South Alabama earlier this month.
The Hoosiers defense leads the country in interceptions (17) despite playing seven games. Indiana (6-1) was ranked No. 7 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
