FAYETTEVILLE - Former Arkansas running back Cedric Cobbs may have another opportunity to turn his life around.
Cobbs, 35, was granted a no-prison sentence Thursday after pleading guilty to a drug charge in United States District Court. Cobbs told the judge he was undergoing treatment for brain disease. He had faced a potential four years in prison for the offense.
Cobbs played running back at Arkansas from 1999 to 2003 and left school as the program’s third all-time leading rusher (now fifth). He won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots and later played for the Denver Broncos before leaving the NFL in 2007.
