JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen in the sixth round of the 2016 draft as a developmental project. Now is the time for that development to speed up.
Allen was inactive for every game last season, when the Jaguars stuck by struggling starter Blake Bortles with veteran Chad Henne serving as the backup.
“I have a lot more confidence than I did last year,” Allen said. “A year ago, I was trying to get my feet wet and learn as much as I could as quickly as I could. Coming into my second year, I’m more confident with the playbook, where I’m throwing it and what I see.
