A former Arkansas pitcher is getting another chance in the Southeastern Conference, but as a football player.
Lucas Krull committed to play football as a tight end at Florida this week. Krull (6-7, 255 pounds) also considered playing football at his parents' alma mater, Kansas State, according to reports.
Krull spent the 2016-17 school year at Arkansas after committing to play baseball for the Razorbacks. The left-hander wowed with a mid-90s fastball, but never pitched at Arkansas after struggling with his command during fall and preseason practices.
He transferred to Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo., and went 2-1 with a 10.
