Former Arkansas baseball signee now plans to play at Arkansas State

FAYETTEVILLE — Bentonville two-sport star Kam’ron Mays-Hunt (6-0, 175 pounds) now plans to begin his college career on the other side of the state.

Mays-Hunt was released from letter-of-intent from Arkansas earlier this year and announced Wednesday that he has committed to Arkansas State.

He signed with the Razorbacks on Nov. 8 and was recruited as a middle infielder and a relief pitcher.

“I broke some (high school) team rules and they (the Razorbacks) released me because of that,” Mays-Hunt said.

That led to Arkansas State head coach Tommy Raffo making contact.

“I like Coach Raffo, how experienced he was and they were just really cool,” Mays-Hunt said.
