As one of the more interesting coaches in college football, you can always depend on Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach to be entertaining after a win or a loss.
It was no different on Saturday when the self-described modern-day pirate saw his two field goal kickers combine to miss a trio of kicks.
That included freshman Nolan McCord’s 41-yard miss as time ran out that handed Arkansas (6-3, 2-3) a 31-28 win and bowl eligibility before 68,818 fans at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
“You can announce this - there is going to be an open tryout on our campus for kickers,” Leach said.
