FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas senior Maria Fassi has a three-stroke lead, but play has been suspended during the final round of individual play at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships at Blessings Golf Club.
Fassi was 4-under par through 12 bogey-free holes Monday before lightning forced golfers off the course shortly before 4:20 p.m.
Fassi is 7 under for the tournament and will have a birdie putt at 13 when play resumes. Florida's Sierra Brooks is the clubhouse leader at 4 under.
Arizona's Bianca Pagdanganan is third at 2 under with six holes remaining.
Radar indicated the suspension of play could be brief, but more thunderstorms - some severe - are projected for Fayetteville throughout the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
