ESPN announced a new round of 30 for 30 documentaries this morning, and among them will be a film about Arkansas' own John Daly.
Details are pretty nonexistent at this point. We don't know when the film is scheduled to air, how long it will be, or if it will cover Daly's entire life, career, or a specific stretch of any point therein.
Here's what we do know: few figures in golf have been able to capture the public's attention like Daly has over the last 25 years. From the highs of [SPOILER ALERT] coming out of nowhere with his "grip it and rip it" mantra to win the PGA Championship in 1991 and the 1995 British Open (19 total professional wins including 5 PGA Tour wins) to the seemingly endless lows of alcohol and gambling addictions and trouble in his love life, spawning his no-really-this-is-true hit single "All My Ex's Wear Rolexes".
