Eastern Illinois upsets Arkansas for first win

FAYETTEVILLE — Jason Scholl's leadoff home run in the 12th inning to give Eastern Illinois the lead and the Panthers beat No. 22 Arkansas 10-8 Saturday for their first win of the season.

Scholl's home run came off Razorbacks reliever Zach Jackson, who suffered his first loss of the season. Jackson issued a walk and gave up two more hits in the inning, the last of which was an RBI bunt single by Jimmy Govern.

Arkansas reliever Doug Willey came out of the bullpen and induced an inning-ending double play by Joseph Duncan.

The Razorbacks put runners on the corners with two outs in the 12th, but Brandon Allen struck out Jack Benninghoff to end the game.
