Despite Arkansas’ overall success at the venue, Gage Wood probably won’t remember Globe Life Field fondly.
The right-hander was well on his way to erasing past memories Sunday, but an apparent injury forced him to leave after just two innings of the No. 5 Razorbacks’ eventual 8-6 win over Michigan in their finale of the College Baseball Series in Arlington, Texas.
Trainers came out to check on him following a warmup pitch prior to the third inning and he exited with what the UA is calling shoulder discomfort. He’s scheduled to have an MRI on Monday.
“It’s just right in his shoulder, but it’s kind of a different spot,” Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn said.
