FAYETTEVILLE — Looking to avoid a series sweep Saturday, Stony Brook jumped on Arkansas starter Connor Noland early.
The Seawolves recorded three hits and scored two runs off Noland in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. With right-hander Nick DeGennaro (2.57 ERA) on the mound, Stony Brook had to feel good about its start.
But Arkansas hitters responded well against the Stony Brook freshman in the bottom of the inning. Casey Martin drew a leadoff walk on a full count, and the next four batters reached on two doubles and two singles to help the Razorbacks to a 4-2 advantage they never relinquished in a 15-7 victory at Baum-Walker Stadium.
